OOM: Orpheus, NYC

Now that Steve has a more solid vision of the place he'll build with Orpheus, the utilitarian apartment feels even less like home. He gives the plain walls an impatient look as he and Orpheus walk through to the bedroom.

"I'm itching to get started with renovating," he complains, "and we haven't even found the right location yet."

Orpheus laughs as the champagne sprays out of the bottle.

"Oops," says Steve, utterly unrepentant, and stripes off his shirt.

Orpheus wriggles back, grinning up at Steve, and kicks off his shoes.

Steve drops onto Orpheus and starts licking up drops of champagne from Orpheus's skin.

"You're gonna ruin my jeans," Orpheus teases, squirming a little. "I paid all of three dollars for them..."

"Guess we oughta take 'em off, then," Steve says and yanks them down Orpheus's hips.

Laughing, Orpheus wriggles out of them, grinning up at Steve.

Steve grins back, and then dips his head to kiss Orpheus's mouth.

Orpheus wraps arms and legs around him, the bottle wobbling precariously, spilling a bit onto Steve's back.

Steve flinches. "Ahh! That's cold!"

Orpheus laughs. "Oops?" he says.

"Gonna do something about it, darlin'?"

[golden_lyre]

"Hmmm, maybe," he murmurs, leaning up to lick up a trickle of champagne as it runs over Steve's shoulder.

Steve shivers and licks Orpheus's throat.

Orpheus slides his free hand over Steve's back, fingers sliding in the champagne. He offers Steve the bottle with a grin.

Steve takes the bottle, gives Orpheus a look, and pours some into Orpheus's navel.

Orpheus laughs, shivering, utterly relaxed and happy.

Steve sucks the champagne from Orpheus's belly button, his thumbs gently brushing Orpheus's hip bones.

Orpheus hums softly, all that happiness and contentment, adoration and desire, present in the sound.

Steve lifts his head, and rests his chin on Orpheus's stomach. He runs his thumb over Orpheus's lower lip. "I love you too, honey."

Orpheus smiles, carding his fingers through Steve's hair. "I love that you know that's what that means."

"I'm learning to read you, I think." Steve kisses his way up Orpheus's chest.

"That's good," Orpheus murmurs. "It's good when that happens."

Steve starts to kiss him, and then smiles and says, "Stay right there," as he gets off the bed.

Orpheus smiles and shifts onto his side to watch Steve as he goes.
