OOM: Orpheus, NYC

Now that Steve has a more solid vision of the place he'll build with Orpheus, the utilitarian apartment feels even less like home. He gives the plain walls an impatient look as he and Orpheus walk through to the bedroom.

"I'm itching to get started with renovating," he complains, "and we haven't even found the right location yet."

"Honey," Steve says, "Orpheus," and he draws Orpheus to him and kisses him.

"I am with you," he whispers, "no matter what."

Orpheus tucks himself against Steve.

"I know you are. I just...I'm sorry that I...am not where you want me to be."

Steve strokes his back.

"I'm not going to force you to do something you're just not ready to do," he says quietly.

"But you want it so much," Orpheus whispers.

"I...worry someday I won't be enough to make up for not having that."

Steve holds him tighter.

"I do want a family," he says quietly. "Most orphans do, I suspect.

"But I'm also aware of the reality of my situation, and of our situation...and maybe all those people who look up to Captain America will be that family. It wouldn't be the same as raising a child or two with you, but it doesn't sound so bad."

Orpheus closes his eyes, breathing slowly for a moment. "But it doesn't sound so good?"

"It's not the same as being called Daddy, no," Steve admits softly.

Orpheus nods and whispers, almost inaudibly, "That's what worries me."

Steve kisses his forehead. He says slowly, as if to make certain the words are the ones he wants, "I firmly believe that as long as we are in this together, we're going to be fine.

"Everything else -- maybe life will bring it to us, maybe it won't, but it's something we'll cope with together."

Orpheus pulls back to look at him, as if to see if Steve is telling the truth. After a moment, he nods, satisfied, and leans up to kiss him softly.

"I believe you."

Steve smiles and holds Orpheus's face as they kiss.

Orpheus leans his forehead against Steve's.

"I love you, music man," Steve whispers. "No matter what else the world brings."

Orpheus takes in a deep breath and lets it out slowly. "I...I believe you."

"Good," Steve whispers as he kisses Orpheus's neck.

Orpheus settles against him again, fingers tracing along Steve's shoulder.

"My man," Steve whispers, kissing down his shoulder.

Orpheus smiles. "All yours, my love."

Steve starts kissing Orpheus's chest. "Beautiful, he murmurs, "and sweet," kiss, "and so," kiss, "so," kiss, "sexy."

Orpheus hums softly, sliding his fingers into Steve's hair.

Steve kisses down his stomach.

Orpheus arches toward him slightly.

Steve pauses and looks up at Orpheus.

There miiiiiiiiiight be a twinkle in his eye.

"Do you want me to go on, honey?"

Orpheus laughs breathlessly. "Always, lovely."

"Good," Steve murmurs and keeps his eyes fixed on Orpheus's as he slides Orpheus's cock between his lips.
