[OOM: Orpheus - after the release party]

The record label is putting Orpheus up for the night in a hotel near Central Park. No one looks twice when Orpheus is accompanied by the young man in a striped suit, not that questions would drive Steve from Orpheus's side anyway.

There's champagne and a fruit basket from the hotel, and once Steve has put the LP safely with his luggage, he snags an apple--the food at the party was good but tiny, and he's hungry again--and gets comfortable on the brocade couch as he has a bite and loosens his tie.

It's been something of an overwhelming night.

"You did look incredible in the suit," Orpheus murmurs between kisses, tugging Steve toward the bedroom as he discards pieces of it. "Did I tell you that?"

"Yes," Steve says with a laugh, stepping out of shoes, shrugging off his shirt. "But you can tell me it again, as many times as you want."

Orpheus' hands move deftly to his belt, tugging it open and unfastening his trousers. "You looked incredible tonight, lovely. It was all I could do to stay to the end and not drag you off somewhere."

"If you had, I would have gone." He stops to step out of his trousers.

"But you wouldn't have heard your song," Orpheus says quietly, arms curling around Steve's waist.

"I would have eventually." He kisses Orpheus. "You can play it for me any time."

"It's not the same," Orpheus whispers, pulling him to the bed. "There's power in performance."

Steve lies down and pulls Orpheus onto him. "There's a piano in the bar."

"True," Orpheus says, settling on top of him. "But I'm not supposed to play like that there."

Steve makes a complaining noise. "Then come to London with me sometime. Our favorite pub has a piano."

Orpheus laughs softly and kisses him. "I'd love to."

Steve kisses him, his hands skimming over Orpheus's back.

"Of course, I did hear it..."

[golden_lyre]

"Did you like it?" Orpheus asks, pushing himself up a bit to look at Steve seriously.

Steve puts his hands on Orpheus's face and looks into his eyes, equally serious.

"I loved it. I thought it was one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard. It made me feel like you really do ... know me."

Orpheus smiles at that, taking hold of Steve's hands, kissing first one and then the other. "Good," he says softly. "I'd like to think that I do."

Steve caresses his hair.

Orpheus bends to kiss him again, slow and sweet.

Steve moans, his hands tracing over Orpheus's back again.

Orpheus lets his hands wander over Steve's skin, humming against his lips.

Steve arches his body up to Orpheus's, lazily sliding their skin together.

Orpheus kisses over his face slowly, reaching for the nightstand where he'd put the lube earlier.

Steve watches Orpheus's hand with heavy-lidded eyes, and then turns onto his stomach.

Orpheus bends to kiss his shoulder, squeezing some of the lube onto his fingers.

Steve reaches back to touch his hair.

Orpheus nuzzles the back of his neck, reaching down to tease his fingers over Steve's entrance.
