[OOM: Orpheus - after the release party]

The record label is putting Orpheus up for the night in a hotel near Central Park. No one looks twice when Orpheus is accompanied by the young man in a striped suit, not that questions would drive Steve from Orpheus's side anyway.

There's champagne and a fruit basket from the hotel, and once Steve has put the LP safely with his luggage, he snags an apple--the food at the party was good but tiny, and he's hungry again--and gets comfortable on the brocade couch as he has a bite and loosens his tie.

It's been something of an overwhelming night.

Orpheus shifts onto his side, pulling Steve with him, keeping him close.

Steve chuckles and curls against him. He nuzzles Orpheus sleepily.

"I'm glad you came tonight," Orpheus whispers, kissing his temple.

"I'm glad you asked me." He traces Orpheus's cheekbones with his thumb.

Orpheus smiles at the touch, turning his face to kiss Steve's palm.

"Thank you writing me such a beautiful song," Steve murmurs.

"It's beautiful because you're beautiful, Galahad," Orpheus says.

Steve kisses him. "I love that you think so."

"I think it because it's true," Orpheus says.

Steve kisses him, arms wrapping around his neck.

Orpheus keeps his arms around Steve's waist, smiling into the kiss.

"My beautiful music man," Steve murmurs. "My lovely, amazing demi-god."

Orpheus laughs softly, leaning his forehead against Steve's.

"Well, you didn't like it when I called you my boy." Steve nuzzles him, eyes closed.

"I'm not a boy," Orpheus points out.

"It's meant to be a term of endearment."

[golden_lyre]

"It's a diminutive."

Steve gets that mischievous look in his eye. "Baby," he coos, "little man, cookie, pussy cat..."

Orpheus arches an eyebrow. "I've never understood 'baby' for someone you're sleeping with."

"Neither have I." He kisses Orpheus. "Which is why I call you other stuff instead."

"I like the others," Orpheus says, kissing him back.

"Darlin'," Steve breathes against his mouth. "Sweetheart. Lovely music man."

"All of those," Orpheus whispers, kissing him.

Steve smiles as he kisses him.

Orpheus strokes his fingertips over Steve's back.
