OOM: Orpheus

Seems like it's going to be one of those nights--the kind of night when Steve can't get Orpheus alone with him fast enough, can't kiss him passionately enough, can't get his hands on enough of Orpheus's skin.

"I know exactly how I want you tonight," Steve says as he pushes Orpheus through the doorway.

"You have," Orpheus assures him. "Time and time again."

"Oh, good," says Steve with very real relief. "It's one thing to be inexperienced--it'd be terrible to just be bad."

Orpheus laughs and kisses him. "Even when you had no experience at all, you're weren't bad."

"Oh, aren't you sweet," murmurs Steve with a soft laugh, and kisses him back.


[ooc: No problem, I did for a bit too.]

"I speak the truth, lovely," he says. "Have we ever had bad sex?"

"Maybe that time when I cried."

Of course, Bucky had just died. He was kind of a mess.

Orpheus shakes his head. "It wasn't bad even then. It was what you needed."

"Then you're right. We've never had bad sex."

[golden_lyre]

"There you have it," Orpheus says with a smile. "So you couldn't possibly just be bad."

Steve kisses him. "Thank you. I'd reassure you but I know you don't need it."

"I do have a bit more practice," Orpheus says, laughing and kissing him.

"Exactly." He strokes Orpheus's face.

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus cups Steve's cheek in his hand, just looking at him for a moment, smiling.

"Oh, my love," he murmurs. "You make me forget any reason to be anything other than content."

"Good. That's what I want you to be."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus kisses him, slow and sweet.

"Happy, even."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Oh," breathes Steve, "that's even better."

[golden_lyre]

"I don't always know what to do with it," Orpheus admits. "It hurts sometimes."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Oh, honey." He strokes Orpheus's chest soothingly. "Why? Happiness should never hurt."

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus lays his hand on top of Steve's, holding it to his heart. "It's just so much."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

He strokes Orpheus's chest with his thumb. "It's just happiness, honey. It shouldn't feel heavy. It shouldn't hurt."

"It isn't heavy, lovely," Orpheus says quietly. "It's...big. Too big for my chest sometimes."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"This chest?" Steve murmurs and kisses over where Orpheus is holding his hand. "With this mighty heart?"

[golden_lyre]

"Yes, this chest," Orpheus says with a smile. "This heart. It isn't bad, my love."

"I love this heart." He kisses Orpheus's chest again.

After a moment he says, "I don't want you to be afraid to be happy. If I could give you anything, it would be that."

[golden_lyre]

"I'm not afraid," Orpheus murmurs, kissing Steve's hair.

"Pain is growth. It's necessary."
