OOM: post-Slenderman with Orpheus

After all the ups and downs and adrenaline rushes of the day, one hopes Steve can be forgiven for pushes Orpheus against the door as soon as its closed and kissing him senseless.

"I don't know yet," Orpheus whispers.

Steve wiggles a little. "You're composing," he whispers, pleased.

Orpheus smiles a bit. "I usually am," he says.

"And I love it when you do."

[golden_lyre]

"Most of it never gets finished," Orpheus tells him, shifting a little to get more comfortable.

"Just like sketches," Steve murmurs, moving off him a little so Orpheus isn't bearing his full weight. "Seeing what works and what doesn't."

Orpheus nods and brings a hand up to stroke his cheek.

"I think this one works," he says quietly.

Steve smiles and kisses him deeply.

Then, abruptly, "Oh, hell."

"What?" Orpheus asks, frowning in concern.

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Bucky. I told him I'd just let you know I was okay and then make sure he was okay..." He gets out of bed and pulls on his trousers. "After the whole thing with the Slenderman and the orange guys, he wasn't sure he'd be able to sleep alone.

"I'll be ten minutes, tops."

Orpheus sighs but doesn't protest, shifting onto his side as Steve gets up. "Okay."

Steve stops dressing--minimally, granted, trousers and T-shirt and boots--and comes back to Orpheus to kiss him, caressing his cheek. "He was going to sacrificed to that thing," he says quietly. "I'd be nervous about being alone, too.

"I'll be back in a few minutes." He caresses Orpheus's cheek. "And I'd like to stay all night."

"I was hoping you would," Orpheus says, tucking his arm under his head.

Steve kisses Orpheus's forehead, picks up his key and goes.



As promised, he's back minutes later.

"How is he?" Orpheus asks, stretching out across the bed.

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"Asleep." Steve sits on the bed to take off his boots. "I guess if he can come through being a POW without cracking, he can come through this, too."

Boots off, he lies back on the bed, hands on his chest, and looks at Orpheus.

"Where were we?"

Orpheus props his head on his hand and grins at him. "I'm pretty sure you were kissing me senseless."

"Oh, yeah," Steve murmurs, moving closer, "I was, wasn't I?"

He kisses Orpheus sweetly.

He'll get to senseless eventually.

Orpheus will take sweetly at the moment. He curls an arm around Steve loosely.

Steve brushes his fingers through Orpheus's hair and over his face, kissing him slow and gentle.

Orpheus pulls back after a moment, leaning his forehead against Steve's.

"Love and live and be happy," he murmurs.

Steve smiles. "Are you blessing me, sweetheart?"

"Sort of?" Orpheus says. "Only it's not my blessing. It's...what she said to me."

Steve blinks, the smile fleeing.

"Oh," he says softly, looking like he doesn't know whether to be worried, upset, or awed.

Orpheus frowns in concern, brushing his thumb over Steve's cheek. "What are you thinking, lovely?"
