OOM: Orpheus

The Bar, for reasons best known to herself, has given Steve a room that could be a renovated warehouse loft in New York. There's exposed brick and lots of bookcases--which Steve has begun to fill--and a shelf for his record player and vinyl albums. The tall arched windows open to a view that could be Manhattan at nighttime, if you didn't know you were at the end of the universe. The bedding and upholstery are faded, Cape Cod-type shades of cream and red and blue, as if someone left them out in the sun during a long, lazy summer.

Steve gets another key from the bar and stands in front of the door for a few moments, breathing deeply, before he lets himself in.

"Darlin'," Steve growls and kisses him hard, pushing him onto his back.

Orpheus moans softly against his lips, arms wrapping around Steve's shoulders.

Steve runs his hands over Orpheus's arms and chest.

Orpheus laughs, his fingers tracing over Steve's back. "Every time we're apart, I feel like I have to learn your body all over again."

"It's all yours to study, honey," Steve murmurs as he kisses Orpheus's neck.

"It is my favorite subject," Orpheus says, tilting his head back.

"Just like yours is mine." He kisses down Orpheus's throat.

"Be thorough," Orpheus murmurs, tugging at Steve's shirt.

Steve pushes himself up so Orpheus can unbutton it easily.

Orpheus unbuttons it quickly and then pushes it almost reverently off Steve's shoulders. His hands stroke lightly over Steve's skin.

"When I was..." He clears his throat, looking away and then back to Steve. "The first time I was with...her...I felt...like I would gladly commit all my worship to her body, to her pleasure."

He pauses, his hand pressed against Steve's chest, fingers tapping in time with his heart. "When I'm with you, I feel the same."

Steve looks at him, eyes brimming, and then kisses him in a way that can only be described as soulful--filled with all the words he is too emotional to say.

Orpheus throws himself into the kiss, even his words failing him.

Steve pulls the towel from Orpheus's hips, and his strong, gentle fingers trace the lines of Orpheus's hip bones.

Orpheus shivers under his touch, his own, bandaged fingers sliding across Steve's back.

Steve's mouth slides down to Orpheus's chest.

Orpheus' eyes close and he groans softly. "Steve...lovely..." he murmurs, arching up to his mouth.

"Yes, darlin'?" He kisses down Orpheus's chest to his stomach.

[golden_lyre]

"Nothing," Orpheus breathes. "Nothing at all."

Steve moves up to kiss his mouth.

Orpheus leans into the kiss, dragging his hands down Steve's chest and stomach to unfasten his trousers.

Steve moans against Orpheus's lips, arching his hips to Orpheus's hands.

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus slips his hands into Steve's trousers, sliding them down his hips.

Steve nuzzles against his face, trembling.

[golden_lyre]

Orpheus gets the trousers out of the way, sliding a hand slowly over Steve's flank.

"Boots," Steve murmurs and moves off Orpheus to yank them off.
