OOM: Orpheus

The Bar, for reasons best known to herself, has given Steve a room that could be a renovated warehouse loft in New York. There's exposed brick and lots of bookcases--which Steve has begun to fill--and a shelf for his record player and vinyl albums. The tall arched windows open to a view that could be Manhattan at nighttime, if you didn't know you were at the end of the universe. The bedding and upholstery are faded, Cape Cod-type shades of cream and red and blue, as if someone left them out in the sun during a long, lazy summer.

Steve gets another key from the bar and stands in front of the door for a few moments, breathing deeply, before he lets himself in.

Orpheus' eyes close and he groans softly. "Steve...lovely..." he murmurs, arching up to his mouth.

"Yes, darlin'?" He kisses down Orpheus's chest to his stomach.

"Nothing," Orpheus breathes. "Nothing at all."

Steve moves up to kiss his mouth.

Orpheus leans into the kiss, dragging his hands down Steve's chest and stomach to unfasten his trousers.

Steve moans against Orpheus's lips, arching his hips to Orpheus's hands.

Orpheus slips his hands into Steve's trousers, sliding them down his hips.

Steve nuzzles against his face, trembling.

Orpheus gets the trousers out of the way, sliding a hand slowly over Steve's flank.

"Boots," Steve murmurs and moves off Orpheus to yank them off.

Orpheus laughs. "Too many clothes, lovely. I'm going to teach you to wear a chiton..."

Boots and socks dropped to the floor, Steve shoves off his trousers and throws himself onto Orpheus again. "A what?"

"A chiton," Orpheus murmurs, arms curling around Steve. "It's what I wore as a young man."

"Oh," Steve murmurs, "that toga thing."

Orpheus laughs, shaking his head. "A toga is Roman, lovely."

"It's still a fella in a skirt," Steve teases.

"In my youth it was trousers made a barbarian."

"I'm still not inclined to letting you put me in one, honey." He rolls onto his back and pulls Orpheus on top of him. "I like making you take off my clothes."

Orpheus smiles as he straddles Steve's hips. "You would make quite the Adonis."

Steve wraps his hands around Orpheus's waist. "The only thing I know about him is that he was very strong."

"And beautiful beyond description," Orpheus says. "So much so that he captured the hearts of both Aphrodite and Persephone."

He slides his hands slowly down Steve's chest.

"Orpheus," Steve murmurs, blushing.
