Steve had made that come-on to Orpheus half in jest, to make a point, but he's really glad he did as they topple onto the bed in their room. As much fun as it is to jump into each other's arms, it's just as much fun to put it off for a little while.

Anticipation is sweet.

"See?" Orpheus murmurs, his voice gruff. "It's good..."

"You're delicious," Steve says and licks his neck.

Orpheus chuckles at that. "Am I now?"

"Mmm," Steve affirms and kisses his shoulder.

Orpheus smiles and strokes his hair.

"So nice to just kiss you," Steve murmurs.

"It is," Orpheus agrees, tracing his fingers lightly across Steve's shoulders.

Steve softly kisses his chest.

Orpheus hums quietly, a content, almost happy tune.

After a moment or two, Steve rests his chin on Orpheus's chest and takes hold of his hand. "Are you okay, sweetheart?"

"Yeah, of course," Orpheus says, weaving his fingers through Steve's. "Why?"

"The music," Steve says and kisses his chest again. "Something about it felt... melancholy."

[golden_lyre]

"Not melancholy," Orpheus assures him.

"Good." He kisses Orpheus's mouth and smiles.

Orpheus smiles into the kiss.

"Tell me how the boat is coming along," Steve says as he settles against Orpheus's side.

"Slowly. It may be some time before it's finished."

"I'd hate to rush something like that," Steve murmurs.

"Mm, yes. Some things are much better when you take your time."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"But what will it look like? I imagine something with a lot of dark wood..."

[golden_lyre]

"Fairly light, actually. Mostly olive," Orpheus says.

"That sounds nice, really.

"And does it have lots of curves? I can see you in something with lots of curves. Very sleek."

[golden_lyre]

"It is very sleek. Very modern," Orpheus says with a smile.

"Does it have sails or an engine?"

[golden_lyre]

"Both," Orpheus says. "Sails for the open sea and an engine for becalmed waters and getting her out of the harbor."
