Steve had made that come-on to Orpheus half in jest, to make a point, but he's really glad he did as they topple onto the bed in their room. As much fun as it is to jump into each other's arms, it's just as much fun to put it off for a little while.

Anticipation is sweet.

"But what will it look like? I imagine something with a lot of dark wood..."

"Fairly light, actually. Mostly olive," Orpheus says.

"That sounds nice, really.

"And does it have lots of curves? I can see you in something with lots of curves. Very sleek."

"It is very sleek. Very modern," Orpheus says with a smile.

"Does it have sails or an engine?"

"Both," Orpheus says. "Sails for the open sea and an engine for becalmed waters and getting her out of the harbor."

"Mm," Steve murmurs. "Open sea..."

Orpheus smiles. "Just you and me out there?"

"Yes. You and me, and the guitar and the sketchpad, and the ocean and the sky..."

"Swimming and making art and love..."

"So perfect," Steve murmurs and turns to kiss Orpheus.

Orpheus kisses him slowly.

"Considering how much time we spend alone," Steve says, nuzzling Orpheus's face, "it's weird how much I want to spend even more."

"Not weird," Orpheus murmurs. "Perfect."

"All right. Perfect."

[golden_lyre]

"We can spend as much time alone together as we can stand."

[thekidfrombrooklyn]

"That seems to be a whole lot."

[golden_lyre]

"I'm okay with that."

Steve smiles gently and says, "Me too."

"I'm glad," Orpheus murmurs, leaning in to kiss him.

Steve settles against him, holding his face, for some long, gentle kisses.

Orpheus hums against his lips, a sweet, affectionate tune.

Steve hums back, affectionately if tunelessly.

"What would you like to do now, lovely?" Orpheus murmurs.

"Whatever you want," Steve says, his eyes dropping to Orpheus's mouth.
