Steve wanted someplace warm, so Orpheus delivered Australia. Steve considered himself a fairly seasoned traveler, since he'd been to one end of the States to the other and seen as much of Europe as a man could in wartime--but Australia is like no place else. Ancient and mysterious while open and friendly, starkly beautiful in some places and overflowing with nature in others.

Best of all, there's no shortage of warmth.

Steve has acquired a decent tan on his pale Irish skin, a basic understanding of the Australian accent, and a reputation among other tourists of always winning the drinking contests.

Steve kisses along his jaw.

Orpheus smiles. "We should get back," he murmurs.

"Yeah..." Steve pulls himself away reluctantly.

"And then you can do whatever you want to me," Orpheus offers.

Steve bites his lip, then kisses Orpheus and takes his hand. "Anything?"

Orpheus arches an eyebrow but says, "Yes?"

Steve takes his other hand.

"Including," he says softly, "putting our arms around each other and moving to music?"

Orpheus swallows.

"I said I'd try, didn't I?"

Steve nods slowly. "Just in our room," he say, pulling Orpheus back up the dunes to the path to their hotel. "Just the two of us."

Orpheus nods as well, trying to stay relaxed.

Steve kisses him many more times as they walk.

Orpheus returns them easily.

In their room, though, Steve hesitates. He says, tracing his fingers down Orpheus's arm, "You can say no to me any time."

Orpheus nods. "I...want to try," he says.

Steve nods and caresses his cheek, and then goes to the radio under the television.

Yes, he's found a station that plays swing. (And Jack Benny.)

Orpheus fidgets nervously as he watches Steve.

The station is playing a slow version of "Blue Skies."

Steve turns to Orpheus, smiling, and then says, "How about making this a little easier," as he tugs off his T-shirt.
